The ideal room for your private home cinema
A room that is at least 25m² is advised in order to envisage the creation of a private home cinema room with a total of 5 to 7 cinema armchairs. The surface area is important for it will give the room ambiance, atmosphere and an even more “cinema like” finish. In the case of several rows of cinema armchairs, we move each row up higher opting for an arrangement of staggered rows, in order to avoid being disturbed by the heads of other viewers sitting in front.
The higher that the number of armchair rows becomes, the higher the room will need to be in order not to risk touching the ceiling of the cinema once it is raised onto the high part of the platform. The height of the home cinema room is therefore an important element to keep in mind.
Even more important than the surface area of the room, is above all the link between the length/ width and the height of the cinema. Certain essential rules are to be respected for layout reasons but also and above all for acoustic reasons (THX norms among others).
A windowless room is ideal (for reasons concerning the aesthetic and acoustic finish and the risk of light entering into the room in the middle of the day). The slightest trickle of light could considerably disturb the projection which requires complete darkness. If, however, you have one or several windows in the room that you want to transform into a home cinema, we have very efficient technical and aesthetic solutions to propose to you, without touching the outside exterior of the house.
Whatever materials are present in your room (brick, concrete, plaster, wood…), we have thermal insulation + soundproofing + acoustic correction + decoration (see the rubric ACOUSTICS).
More often than not, the room that we transform into a private home cinema, is "bare" and exposed concrete. Numerous plans, photos and examples are shown in our PHOTO GALLERY.
From one story houses, to finished basements or attics, there is always a room that is ready to become a cinema.
