Private Cinema Room - Paris - 40m²
REALISATION OF A MODERN HOME CINEMA IN THE ILE DE FRANCE
Our client wanted to customize the layout of the typical colour scheme of a cinema, with a chic grey wool carpet and red leather seats. The colour of the carpet brings out the aluminium colour of the decorative triangular aluminium panels on the walls, with triangle above being stripped in lightly coloured aluminium and the one below being brushed in charcoal grey. Highlighted by frosted glass light fixtures in order to avoid any reflection onto the screen, these decorative panels have three important roles: first, aesthetically speaking, they break up the monotony of the black acoustic walls, and also they all provide an area of light around the cinema seats (the light fixtures illuminate too little if they were installed on black acoustic panels for they would absorb all of the light). Lastly, since the aluminium is a very solid material, these panels have a role of sound diffusion and are precisely positioned.
This private home cinema room includes 7 leather cinema armchairs, equipped with double motorisation (backrest and footrest are separately adjusted, without forgetting the headrest which can be adjusted in height as well as in inclination to get in the perfect position during the projection of the film). Finally, each armchair is posed on vibrators synchronised to the soundtrack of the film such as the explosions or gunfire, giving the authentic sensation that the entire cinema room is trembling. This is bound to be a crowd pleaser!
The acoustic treatment was meticulously studied in order to cover the totality of the cinema room, but the most impressive part is the Bio-sonic Mach III wall that was tailor-made to the dimensions of the room. A Bio-sonic wall is a speaker board composed of 21 loudspeakers including 3 horns with each compression driver for the high-pitched sounds. Situated behind the acoustically transparent screen, it is only 30cm deep and provides an acoustic power that is still rare for personalised use.
The screen is in 2.35:1 CinemaScope format, equipped with a 4K compatible acoustically transparent screen. The screen is even fitted, and its curve is backlit to highlight it in the luxury cinema room. As for the image, it comes from an Ultra HD video projector.
Side note: Our client not having enough space to install a private cinema room in his villa however large it might be, decided to hollow out his crawl space to create a proper basement, in which they could install their cinema room and even an interior pool!
